The Band-tailed Sierra Finch, Phrygilus alaudinus, is in the Thraupidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.
It is called band-tailed because of the white horizontal band across the distal tail, see 0170 2. These were photographed at Rsearva Nacional de Lachay.
