The Lark Sparrow Chondestes grammacus is easy to identify because of the combination of a long white streak over the eye, a short white streak below the eye, and a vertical black streak on the throat surrounded by white streaks. It is common in grassy areas which is where this one was photographed, in the Peck Road Water Conservation Park, Arcadia, CA.
