The Macaroni Penguin Eudyptes chrysolophus is one of six species of crested penguin. The crest consists of yellow feathers protruding from behind the eye partway down the neck.
The breeding area is show in the photo. It includes the Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands, South Georgia, South Sandwich and other islands. It is the most abundant of the penguins.
