The range of the Black-bellied Whistling Duck is mostly in central Mexico with a tiny extension into the southern tip of Arizona. This one was photographed in the aviary of the Arizona-Sonoran Dessert Museum. The white-eye ring gives it a weird almost storybook quality. Its call is a high-pitched four-note whistle.
