These two Bald Eagles, Haliaeetus leukocephalus, appropriately sitting atop a National Wildlife Refuge sign, were photographed at the Protection Island Wildlife Refuge near Port Townsend, WA. An immature Bald Eagle was perched on a different sign. Bald Eagles do not develop their characteristic white head until they are in their fifth year.
