Grosbeaks are in the order Passeriformes, and in the superfamily of Passeroidea. They do not have a family of their own and represent a collection of related songbirds with large beaks. There are three main divisions: the Grosbeak Finches in the finch family Fringillidae, the Cardinal Grosbeaks in the family Cardinalidae, and the Grosbeak Tanangers in the family of Thraupidae. The only photographs currently in the collection are of the Black-headed Grosbeak.
