The Barred AntshrikeThamnophilus doliatus in the antbird family of more than 200 species. It is found in the Neotropics. It is found in a wide range of wooded habitats (even gardens and parks) in both humid and arid regions. Throughout a large part of its range, it is among the most common antbirds. It is sexually dimorphic as seen by the great difference between the males and females. The males are striking, the females are striking in their own way. These were all photographed at Cano Negro, Costa Rica.
