The Buff-hooded Dove or White-throated DoveGallicolumba xanhonura is a highly sexually dimorphic dove. The adult male has a white head, neck and breast that contrasts with dark bronze feathers of the lower body. By contrast the adult female is smaller, cinnamon brown with a head and neck that is glossy greenish-brown. It is found in the native forests of the Northern Marianas Islands (except Guam). It forages on the seeds and flowers of the forest canopy. The birds are shy and tend to keep well hidden.
