The Brewer's Blackbird Euphagus cyanocephalus is common and often seen in parks and open fields. Those photos with a grassy background were photographed at the Crystalaire Golf Course in Llanyo, CA. The one with a water background was taken at Mono Lake, Vining, CA.
The males have a purplish head and black body. The yellow iris make for a striking look.
The females are grayish in color 0500 lacking the iridescent colors of the male.
