The Yellow-billed Cardinal, Paroaria capitata, is in the tanager (Thraupidae) family. It is not very closely related to the cardinals proper (Cardinalidae). It occurs in South America and was introduced on the island of Hawaii. It breeds in shrubland. The Yellow-billed Cardinal might be confused with the Red-crested Cardinal, but does not have a crest. Photos in the 7000 seeries were taken in Argentina.
