These photos of a Greater Pewee were taken along the San Pedro River just a few miles north of the Mexican border. These were the “catch” of the day since the Greater Pewee is rarely seen in the United States. It is predominately a Mexican bird with the summer range just barely extending into southeastern Arizona, exactly at the place where these photos were taken. Since these hand held photos were taken at over 100 years distance they are a testimony of the power of the Canon 70-200 mm lens with a 2X extender and an image stabilizer!
