Hacienda Solimar was a delightful surprise. It was a Kevin Easly add. It was a surprise because it was not in Lawson’s book and I had never heard of it. It was delightful because of its vastness and rich wildlife. It is a privately owned 10,000-acre cattle ranch. It is a great example of how commercial interests and wildlife can coexist. In addition to the Tiger-herons, Snail Kites, White-tailed Kites, and Crested Carcaras, and many others, one of the wonderful surprises was being able to obtain many photographs of the beautiful Jabiru stork. Several panoramic views are included to show the vastness of Hacienda Solimar.
