The Magnificent Frigatebird Fregata magnificens is common throughout the lesser Antilles. None of the birds we saw had the bright red throat pouch that we saw on the Magnificant Fragatebirds in the Galapagos. Since the latter is present in males during courtship, it is likely we were not there during breading season, or we only saw females. The V of the feathers of the tail is characteristic.
One of the birds flying around the ship was banded and the band could be read 23V (4041).
