The Maui Creeper is only found on Maui and there it is only found in the high forests on Haleakala. Thus, getting a photo of one was considered a prize. When I returned to Hosmer Grove with David and Carl, I took a blind shot at a bird in the bush and on inspection it turned out to be a Maui Creeper. However, it was a bit out of focus (4653) since auto focusing on a bird in a bush often does not give good results and by the time I went back to use manual focus he was gone. This stimulated David Buchanan to return a few days later to see it he could get a better photo. Right after a rain spell, he found several in the bushes. The focus was still not perfect, but better than mine. His initials are on those photos (3303, 3304).
