The Waved Albatross is the largest breeding bird of the Galapagos and has a wingspan of up to 7.9 feet. While this is very impressive the Antarctic Wandering Albatross has a wingspan of up to 11.5 feet. The Waved Albatross is present only on the Island of Espanola. The first figure shows its habitat on this island.
The next first four photos are of adults. In photo 9668 the Albatross is exercising its wings in preparation for takeoff. The young juvenile is covered with brown feathers (photo 9473) which are falling off in older birds (phto 9478 and 9482).
