Like the Black Turnstone, the Ruddy TurnstoneArenaria interpres also forages for food by "turning stones" on rocky beaches. It is a smallish orange-legged shore bird. The Ruddy Turnstone is a circumpolar sandpiper breeding in the summer in the high arctic and migrating in the winter to shorelines throughout the U.S. These photos were taken at Longboat Keys.
