The Black Skimmer
Rynchops niger
(1961) is one of the most dramatic of the sea shore birds. It gets his name from it method of feeding with its larger lower bill lowered into the watter and it skims along the water surface
(see

- Skimmers - Black).
These were photographed on Solono Beach off Meritt Island.
