The Sanderling Calidris alba is common on sandy beaches of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. In juveniles and non-breeding adults it is the whitest of the small shore birds. These were photographed on Solono Beach off Meritt Island.
The last three were photographed at Longboat Keys in mid April, and the last two show the Sanderling during breeding season with ruddy feathers on the belly.
