The Belted Kingfisher Ceryle alcyon is one of my favorite birds. After many unsuccessful tries I was able to photograph a female during our fishing trip down the Rouge River in Oregon (see ComingsBirds.com/PacificCoast). I had my chance again at the Hulamay Preserve on the Old Audubon Road where it goes out into the bay and stops. This time it was a male fishing from a high-tension wire. I was fortunate enough to catch him midway on a dive for fish (3061). He came back to the wire multiple times with the fish in his mouth (3040).
