The distinctive feature of the Townsend’s WarblerDendroica townsendi is the oval yellow ring around the eye. When seen from the front (7408) this looks like some sort of a Halloween mask. The breast is yellow with varying degrees of black streaks down the sides and black bib in mature male adults. In 1st winter females the black bib is missing leaving a yellow breast (7795, 7802).
