The Gray-headed TanagerEucometis penicillata, is a member of the Tanager or Thraupidae family, the only one in the genus Eucometis. In England the spelling Grey is preferred. It is found in Central and South America. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. Its plumage is a yellowish olive over much of its body, with a conspicuous gray head and crest. It can be confused with female Passerini’s Tanager but lacks its pale orange breast.
