These photos of a Bushtit were Psalttriparus minimus taken in mid-June at the Peck Road Water Conservation Area in Arcadia, CA. Mark Scheel of the Pasadena Audubon Society helped me identify these birds as a Bushtits.
I returned in mid-October to the same spot and found a swarm of them on a bush. These are the four photos in the 6000’s. No whiskers this time suggesting the previous whisker-like things were plant twigs in their mouth.
The 7257-7324 photos were taken in my backyard in Monrovia, CA.
Except for humming birds they are the smallest birds in North American.
