Von der Decken’s HornbillTockus deckeeni is a member of the hornbill family Bucerotidaewhere ‘buceros” means “cow horn” in Greek. They are found in arid habitats in Ethiopia south to Tansania (see range map). It was named after the German explorer Baron Karl Klaus von der Decken (1833-1865). The bill is black in females and yellow in males.
