The White-faced Ibis Plegadis chihi is characterized by a red face surrounded by a band of white. It can have strikingly beautiful blue to purple iridescent body feathers as seen in 1499. This and photo 1372 were taken a Discovery Cove, Orlando, FL.
We also ran across a White Faced Ibis at Ramer Lake on the east side of the Salton Sea, California. The photograph 2094 was as we first saw it, standing in a small pond. I tried to sneak around behind it to be a closer view but found mostly thick bushes with only one small break allowing a photo.
