The Gray FlycatcherEmpidonas wrightii is very similar to the Hammond’s and Dusky Flycatcher. The Grey Flycatcher is found in bushy habitats and has a unique tail movement consisting of a gradual downward tail-wag versus the quick up flick of other flycatchers. These photos were taken during an early March birding trip sponsored by the Pasadena Audubon Society (The Wrentit) at the Hahamongna Watershed Park (see sign).
