The Yellow-rumped Warbler has splotches of yellow all over: the chin, the crown, the flanks and of course, the rump. The yellow chin and flanks are often easier to see than the yellow rump. The chin presents as a bright yellow triangle (7700, 7771 and 8981). The yellow crown (8407, 8981) is often hard to see probably because it is so narrow (7767, 8407, 9710 and 9734). The colors in the female (7405, 7874, 9113) tend to be less striking than in the male. IN addition to this there is considerable variation in the intensity of the yellow in different individuals.
